University of Technology Sydney – Interior Design Program
The Interior Design Program in the University of Technology Sydney grants its graduates a degree in Bachelor of Design in Interior Design as well as a Bachelor of Design in Interior Design, Bachelor of Arts in International. This program allows their students to explore the different aspects of designing interior spaces including environmental and building systems, methods and theories governing design and communications and the human factor.

Their Interior Design program is one of the longest established and most respected interior design courses in Australia. It allows for specialised and flexible learning paths in which experimentation, exploration and investigation are offered.

The University of Canberra offers a program in Interior design, the Bachelor of Interior Design, under the Division of Health, Design and Science. Their program in interior design is offered mutually by the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT). This program has a duration of three years when undertaken full time, consisting of six trimesters lasting through to two years for an Advanced Diploma in Interior Design (CIT) and a 24 credit point plan of study at the University of Canberra for an additional one year.

An alternative entry path is successful completion of Year 2 of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Architecture course at the University of Canberra. The course aims to provide students with an innovative professional/vocational degree level qualification in interior design, and to produce graduates with an international focus able to operate as successful design professionals and practitioners in the Asia/Pacific region and the international arena.

Located in Brisbane, the Queensland University of Technology offers a post graduate program in Interior Design for the Degree Graduate Diploma in Interior Design. This program is offered under the university’s Faculty of Built Environment and Engineering and presents an educational environment that stimulates and supports its enrollees, providing the students with an education that combines skills with knowledge.

Graduates of Interior Design or Industrial Design are eligible for membership of the Design Institute of Australia . QUT Industrial Design is the only course of its kind in Queensland and is a member of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID)
