These points need to include the completion of at least two GCE/VCE A levels with a grade of C or better in both of them. Many Interior Design programs require a solid concept of the English language both in the verbal and written form. In many cases the student will still be allowed into the Interior Design program but with the requirement that they have to complete additional courses that will help them improve in the area of the English language. It is common for students to need to present a portfolio of their work. If they are new to the concepts of Interior Design then it is often required for them to complete an essay describing why they are interested in enrolling in the Interior Design courses and what they hope to gain from the experience. Many Interior Designs courses ask you to complete an oral interview. This is a good time to bring along your portfolio. You want to use this opportunity to show them your determination and dedication to being a part of the program. They want to find out who you are and why Interior Design is important to you. Don’t give them the answers you thing they are after. Be honest about your feelings and your passion for Interior Design will be apparent. If you have no formal experience in the area of Interior Design, you should still enroll for courses. You can bring pictures and information on the work you have done. It can be the before and after pictures of decorating your own home or other special projects you have taken part in.
